Technical Consultant

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated Technical Consultant to work within our team on systems implementation and support.

The individual should have an excellent understanding of database theory (Microsoft SQL Server) and associated products; a thorough knowledge of reporting tools such as Crystal Reports would be of benefit. Familiarity with using SQL to manipulate data within databases is essential.

Our systems also have a web-based element and an understanding of Microsoft IIS would also be of benefit.

The successful candidate must be able to learn quickly and have a natural passion for databases systems in conjunction with an understanding of the commercial and practical limitations of real world projects.

Part of the role will involve work in our offices on database configuration and data manipulation. This will include system configuration for individual client projects.

The role will also involve speaking to customers about software installation and configuration (some with technical knowledge and some with very little) and so good communication skills are essential. The successful candidate must have patience and a professional manner.

The successful candidate will spend a significant amount of time visiting clients implementing systems and working on and must have a clean driving license and their own transport.

They must be able to build relationships with customers and demonstrate they are able to understand customers’ needs quickly.
